Are you wondering if volunteer travel is right for you? Are you a college student interested in volunteering overseas? Are you a seasoned traveler who wants to take an off the beaten path adventure and volunteer at the same time? Have you always wanted to volunteer in Africa, but never thought the timing was right?  Do you have special skills such as carpentry, a medical background or are a teacher? Are you a high school senior looking for something other than the typical Senior Trip? Are you just a person interested in traveling and giving of yourself in some way?

Volunteer Vacations, Humanitarian Travel, Volunteer Adventures, Mission trips or Travel with a purpose. It doesn’t matter what you call it. It matters only what you want your experience to be. I have always been amazed at the diversity of people that travel on trips like these. All different ages and all different professions, people at so many different stages of life. I have seen that no matter who you are or what your age there is something so valuable about traveling in this way. The rewards and lessons are endless and span far beyond just the 2-week experience. Many people think you have to take a 3-month career break or sabbatical to have a worthwhile experience. I have seen that doesn’t have to be the case. I’m sure many people could benefit from a 3-6 month volunteer mission, but it seems people are so busy that finding even 2 weeks to step away from life is difficult. I hope that people don’t underestimate the power that a short-term volunteer trip can have. Impact is key and just because these trips are only 2 weeks long does not mean that the impact can’t be profound.

What With Change In Mind can promise is that you will participate in an amazing project that you will get to experience from start to finish. The team will work closely with local villages and have the time to experience the culture first hand. You will have the excitement of meeting new people and be immersed in a new culture. We also provide time to see the sights and have an amazing Malawian adventure. I know that taking the step to take a trip of this magnitude is difficult, but I also know first hand that once you do you will realize that this decision was one of the best you could have made. You will have the chance to touch the lives of others with an incredible face to face encounter. The memories and impact you make will last a lifetime.

Beautifully stated. I was fortunate to serve my skills to the people of Haiti after the earthquake & this blog really speaks to me. Africa has been calling to me for a while now & I am looking forward to learning more about your upcoming project!

I have been fortunate enough to be on one of these trips with the director of With Change In Mind, the construction of the playground. Everything she tells you about making a difference in the lives of others and in your own life when you take a trip With Change In Mind is true. You will have a different view of yourself and of others not just in Malawi but in your own community. This is a wonderful opportunity with a first class organization With Change In Mind. I am looking forward to my next trip with them. Beautifully done video.
