07/02/2013I have just returned to the village after dropping the group off at the airport. Coming back to an empty village is so strange. As soon as the car dropped me I could hear the airplane flying over head and I imagine my group was on that very plane.
We had a wonderful time last night sharing stories and memories about our experience these past two weeks. Scott and some friends of his brought their guitars out and we had a good Malawi sing a long. We stayed up to late, but I think going to bed meant that the trip was really over:(
Laying in the grass here outside my hut I can now truly reflect on the past two weeks. The group left me the most beautiful card. I saved reading it until I got back and I’m so glad I did. Reading their sweet words really makes me happy. This group was a wonderful mix of amazing people who all had special things to offer this experience. I am better for knowing each of them.

Feels strange not have boarded the plane with the group, but also kind of wonderful in a way because I know the next group will be here soon. To have two groups this year is a dream come true for me. Being here and talking with Scott and all the other people I’m connected with has me already excited to see what the next year will bring! I will keep focused though on making the next three weeks as great as the first two were. I have plenty of time to plan for next year once I get home.
The next couple of days will be kind of quiet and I hope to just rest and do a bit of work for the next group. Monday I am lucky enough to be tagging along with a group that is going to Zambia. It’s great to have friends in Malawi! I have no idea who the group is, but Isaac will be driving them so if nobody else speaks English at least ill have him 🙂 we will get back on the 3rd and then on the 4th ill be traveling with Isaac down to the southern region of Malawi. I haven’t ever been there and wanted to see and do some things that I may be able to add to future itineraries. We will stay one night on Mumbo island and then two nights in Blantyre where we will climb Mt. Mulanje. These are both things I have heard wonderful things about so I’m looking forward to it.
I hope those of you who have been following the blog because you have friends or family members who were on this last trip will continue to come back and check in every now and again. We are always looking for people who have a heart for service work and travel! Maybe next year I will see some of you on one of the trips.
The next time I go to the airport I will be picking up some of my dearest friends and some new travelers! Can’t wait to have another awesome adventure!!

I can’t believe how fast the time went! I am sure you can’t either… I am sure your group had an amazing experience… can’t wait to talk to you in person about it… Zambia sounds fun! Have fun and hopefully get some needed rest before the next group arrives!
