We have made our way back from Zambia today. The 120 miles took only 7 hours this time and that included a stop for a little shopping and lunch and both boarder crossings. We are all VERY dirty and ready for CLEAN clothes!

Tomorrow our plan is to head back to the work site and do some finishing touches and then present the kitchen to the community there. Our days working on the kitchen were great and we all feel proud of what we were in such a short time able to accomplish.

Waking up early each morning, putting on our backpacks and walking the 40 min. to Adziwa added to our experience and we have met a lot of friends in the village we walk through twice each day. When we arrived at the site each morning there was always an assessment of what needed to be done that day and how we would go about doing it. We had a great team of contractors that were willing to teach us and work along side us which was great. As I said the days here have been very hot and we all had to make sure we wore plenty of sunscreen and kept hydrated! No real bathrooms on site and only about half of the women were willing to use the bathrooms, the others just suffered through the day hoping to drink enough to stay hydrated, but not to much that they would have to use the bathroom 🙂 Silly girls!

The trip is winding down, but there is still a lot to do and we are focused on making it all happen. I will write tomorrow to let you all know what state our construction site was and how the handing over went. Sorry again I can’t add more, but its busy busy here.
